impact

so today i was going to whine about how horrible my flight was this week. i was going to conclude the story with my last leg. about how perverted the man behind me was, touching me constantly, talking to me and using sexual innuendoes frequently while the man next to me was throwing up. yet today my computer didn't let me post in time and i needed to get to a memorial service. . . and i don't think i've ever cried so much at a service. the reason for my tears. the sheer impact of a family and their son that they lost. a family whom i've know my whole life. his mother was my mom's bridesmaid. i have memories of their son before his brain damage. their family a constant prayer request in my church my entire childhood. a couple whose example of love, dedication and determination simply amazes me. they never gave up hope on their son for the last 20 years. years of hoping to reverse the brain damage. years of caring, of fighting, of loving even when everyone else thought they should give up. to me this couple is exactly what God's love for us is. unfailing, persistent, tender, patient, unending. even now my eyes well up. to know such a love. their love for their son. God's love for us. today i could not deny the bigger picture. bad flights are temporary. loving God's way is eternal. who can say what the impact is of this family but i want to love like that because God loves us just like that! thankful for:

* that God is willing to get our eyes off ourselves and speak with love!

* a good and restful time visiting my best friend :)

* beautiful gorgeous sunny weather!!!!!

there is no more news regarding my visa but please keep praying. there is a lot going on right now and i am a bit behind on work because of my time off. pray i can catch up and get back on top of the curve :)

the day started out so peaceful on wednesday . . .
